AA in Paris

While American A.A.s had met in Paris as early as 1949, the first known French-speaking group forms after the newspaper France Soir runs a series of articles on Alcoholics Anonymous by journalist Joseph Kessel in the summer
of 1960.

In 1961, four people fellows formed the Groupe Quai d’Orsay, taking its name from the Quai at which the American Church is situated.

Founder's Day

The date of the convention also aligns with AA Founder’s Day. 10th June 1935 marked the first meeting between Bill W. and Dr. Bob, the founders of the AA Programme. Join us to celebrate the occasion, the legacy of our co-founders and 82 years of freedom from addiction.

Is the convention open to non-members of AA?

We happily welcome those with a desire to stop drinking of interest to learn more.

Due to strict limitations on the number of participants allowed by the venue, we suggest fellows consider not bringing additional family members or children outside of the programme for the day.

Should I leave my pet at home?

We kindly ask that you paws for thought if it’s essential to bring your four-legged friend to the event. It will be a lively day (in the best AA sense), and may be distracting for pets but also disrupt the calm space of the meetings.

Will the convention be available online via Zoom?

The Convention is an in-person face to face event.

Where can I learn more about AA?

Please visit aa.org for further information.

What is the capacity of the Convention?

Due to requirements of the venue we are happy to invite 150 guests to attend the event. Register now to avoid disappointment.
